INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM
Are You Looking For Mental Health Services For Your Teenager?
Maybe you sense that your teen needs a higher level of care than weekly therapy can provide.
Or perhaps your teen just got out of an inpatient facility, and you think they could use a step-
down program to continue their care. Regardless of what level of treatment would suit your teen
best, you’ve recognized that their mental health is struggling. They might be dealing with a high
level of depression, anxiety, suicidality, or trauma.
If this is the case, we encourage you to try our intensive outpatient program for teens. At The
Secure Attachment Initiative, we offer comprehensive mental health services for teens who are
dealing with a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. If your teen needs a more
involved level of care than standard therapy but you sense that they don’t need inpatient
treatment, then our IOP may be ideal for them.
Our Program
The Secure Attachment Initiative’s intensive outpatient mental health program is a comprehensive treatment program made to provide intensive care and support for teens and families facing mental health challenges. It is a six-week program that features a rotating curriculum of topics, so teens can join at the start of any week without worrying about missing a certain topic.
Our program aims to bridge the gap between inpatient care and traditional outpatient services by offering a structured and intensive treatment option that allows adolescents to maintain their daily routines while receiving the support they need.
By offering a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy, our program ensures teenagers receive consistent support and guidance as they navigate their mental health challenges. This helps maintain the momentum of progress made during inpatient treatment or crisis intervention.
Why Us?
Our program offers a unique experience for teenagers, blending creativity, self-discovery, and deeper healing into counseling sessions. We provide a safe and supportive environment where teenagers can express themselves, connect with others, and receive guidance from experienced therapists and facilitators.
Our therapists are highly trained, trauma-informed, and experienced in working with teens. We incorporate non-traditional therapeutic methods, such as body movement, wilderness therapy, and neurofeedback, alongside traditional counseling approaches. Our IOP emphasizes the importance of self-discovery and empowerment and encourages teens to take responsibility for their actions and behaviors. We also encourage family involvement and offer family counseling as an integral component.
By combining these elements, our intensive outpatient therapy program aims to promote healing, personal growth, and stronger relationships in the lives of teens. The goal is for them to walk away with a higher level of functioning in all domains of life, whether that relates to academics, relationships, or emotional wellbeing.
Our Program’s Structure
We offer an average of nine hours of therapeutic treatment per week, including extension options for teens who can benefit from more comprehensive trauma treatment. Due to the rotating nature of our practice’s curriculum, teens are welcome to join at the beginning of each week.
In addition to the nine weekly group hours, teens are welcome to join one to three additional hours of non-traditional therapeutic activities (yoga, somatic experiencing, neurofeedback, art expression, etc.) and four hours of a therapeutic wilderness experience. After the completion of the six-week IOP, each teen is offered follow-up therapeutic services including individual and/or family therapy.
The Secure Attachment Initiative strives to meet teens on their own level and make the healing process engaging for them. That’s why we incorporate a wide range of artistic and outdoor activities into treatment. We want to help teens tap into their own creativity and utilize new resources to foster their growth and development.
